Legacy of an Adopted Child

Kris
Nikki

Some of you may have read this before on WLS, but Im having a Mum moment

For Nikki and Kris with Love

Legacy of an Adopted Child

Once there where two women, who never knew each other,

One you do not remember, the other you call Mother,

Two different live, shaped to make your one,

One become your guiding star, the other become your sun,

The first gave you life, the second taught you to live it,

The first gave you the need for love and the second was there to give it,

One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name,

One gave you the seed of talent, the other gave you aim,

One gave you emotions, and the other clamed your fears,

One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears,

One gave you up it was all she could do,

The other prayed for a child and God lead her straight to you,

And now you ask me through your tears, the age old question through the years,

Heredity or environment, which are you the product of ?

Neither, my darling neither, just two different kind of Love

I first got this poem twenty four years ago, when our first gift of Love Nikki, come from Korea, to this day I am grateful to the two Birth Mum, who gave us our wonderful Children, for they gave us the greatest gift in the world, they made us a Family, I think of them often and hope they have found Happiness and Love

  1. Thank you Sue, a wonderful Poem, and a first read for me. You have reason to be proud, two children who you've helped have a better life, but through doing so you've also gained so much love...It's there in the photo's, shining bright.
Life is what you make of it, and I think you've worked wonders ... bye for now..

  2. I remember reading this on your WLS blog but enjoyed reading it again. Hope it's a little warmer down there, Sue. It's plenty hot up here!

  3. You may not have wrote it; you took the words and made it your reality. It fits you Sue, did not hold the pen, but it is your writing. The voices are inspired by you, as are those of us that have the joy of reading this.....
    Peace to You
