Old Friends Meet

Most of you know that I’ve been away, while I was away I took many pictures, to tell the truth I took hundreds, and they all need going through before I can post them, but for one lot, these picture where taken at the end of our trip and to me are the most important of all pictures that were taken and none of these pictures were taken by me.
On the 10th November on the way home by train we stop in Adelaide, to meet an old friend, who I have talk to on the net and follow his blogs for about ten years, for both of us it was the first time, we had seen each other, other than in photos or on webcam, many of you know my friend Ian, as Mushy or Emu, when the train was pulling in, we could see Ian and his wife Ana standing on the platform waiting for us, they had travelled for six hours to come and see us, and on the way they were hit by a very bad storm that felled trees and more, I’m just Thankful that they both got there ok.
Ian and Ana, I wish we had of had more time to spend with you, three hours was just way to short, but I would not have miss it for the world, for ten years we have been friends and I know we will meet again, but this time I hope it does not take another ten years.
Ian you are the truest Aussie I know, right down to the Slim Dusty hat and boots, never change my friend, always keep writing your poems and tell stories as only an Aussie can.
I have heard people say that people we meet on the net are just names, well I’m here to tell you they are not just names, they people who play an important part in our lives in a very special way, and I hope each and every one of you some day get to meet friends you have made on the net, it is the most wonderful feeling, to hug someone you have knew for years for the first time, and I can’t wait to do it again sometime soon.

  1. What fun to meet an on line friend. I have met two of my blogging buddies. One actually lives 8 miles from me now and the other is in WV. A wonderful experience.

  2. It had to be a blast, I hope you had time to toss back a couple with Ian. I wish I could have been there. I need to talk to John Travolta and see if he can borrow the 747 from Qantas air lines...
